Today's Philippine Daily Inquirer editorial cartoon. Thank God for Jess Abrera and Antonio Montalvan II, whose pro-life witness in the midst of the secularist ethos being fostered by some Inquirer journalists and columnists is truly inspiring.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you were not able to decipher the real message to this editorial cartoon although Cong. Pacquiao's name is already in it. When can you people ever learn satire?
And it's quite funny that you can't see the obvious, Mister Anonymous.
ReplyDeleteJess Abrera is a devout Catholic and is staunchly pro-life as well as seen in many of his previous editorial cartoons.
Maybe Mr. Anonymous did not noticed that the person representing the pro-RH was actually a puppet? I can see something in his back that looks like a controller, the one that you can twist a few times so the puppet can walk when you let it go.
ReplyDeleteProbably Mister Anonymous the First didn't get the real message of the editorial rather he based it on how he see it and not the deeper meaning behind it.
ReplyDeleteAnd how's the fight of Pacquiao against corruption going? Actually, he should not go very far because most of the corrupt in this country like Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Arroyo are Catholics. If Catholic Church could just teach its members not to be corrupt, there would be no need for the RH Bill as there would be no poverty, di ba? So join Pacquiao in his fight against poverty. The bad thing is you seem to think this is boxing where he can do it alone.
ReplyDeletePro-Life si Abrera or pro-RC?
ReplyDeleteHehe! Ayos si Anonymous ah! Bakit nga naman you can't decipher the real message?!
ReplyDeleteCorruption is represented by a dragon, which is also the symbol of Satan and everything wicked. RH Bill is portrayed as what we call "de susing robot". Pacquiao represents those who believe that corruption is the problem, and the solution is fight against it. Take note, he represents those who recognize the real problem; he is not fighting alone. And those that he represents in this editorial are the ones who truly defend life and fight the real problem.
Di nyo ba maintindihan yun, people?!
Bakit ang bobo ni 1st Anonymous :) hindi marunong mag analyze ng social realism cartoon :)
ReplyDeleteThe poor lose with the restrictions placed on them by RH Bill and the rich prosper (thank you IMF, WB, UN funds). While if corruption is stopped the rich HAVE to pay taxes, the elites CANNOT just take and give bribes, etc.etc.etc. simple as that. no rocket science. only a real grounded perspective needed.
